New Year’s Eve 2020 let’s go!!!

This year didn’t look quite as we hoped, but that doesn’t mean we can’t celebrate everything we’ve been through in a big way and start 2021 with a bang.

We are bringing the New Year’s Eve celebration right to your living room. You can choose to follow along with us throughout the evening or just take certain elements of the night and make it your own! You don’t have to drink to participate, but we will have drinking options for each activity.

Get ready to embark on a bar crawl around your home. We have created different stops to help you transform your home into five different bars! Each hour we will be moving on to a new bar where there will be different games, music, snacks, decorations and drinks to enjoy!

Prepare

Get dressed up like you are hitting the town! Put on something that makes you feel like a million bucks!

Set up each different “bar” in various rooms or areas of your home. Keep reading to see the many bar themes.

• Best of 2020 Reflections: Download the list of reflections to go through with your partner/roommate

• 2020 Confessions: Silly or funny things you did throughout the year that you maybe shouldn’t have? Or didn’t tell anyone about? Well now is the time!
  • Ex Finished the last of the milk and blamed the other person maybe? Big dent in the wall that mysteriously showed up?
• Create a Bucket List for 2021
  • What new skills do you want to learn?
  • What new habits are you going to set?
  • What are you most looking forward to?

Set up a table in your space to be the bar and layout different alcohol on it.

Activity

• Pull out your gaming consoles you have laying around your house.
• Wii? Nintendo 64? PS2,3,4, or 5? XBOX? Nintendo Switch? DDR?
• Grab any you have and set them up in a room. Pick your favorite games and switch between them throughout the hour.
• Mario Kart anyone? Drink every time you lose a race.
• If you don’t have a gaming console, grab some board games and create a board game pub instead!

Drink

• Local beer & cider
• Get a few different beers from local breweries and do a taste test of all of them!
• Want more of a challenge? Try being blindfolded and see if you can identify which beer is which.

• Any game/movie posters you have laying around your home
• Display the various video games

9 pm- Project X College Bar

You’ve made it. Back to the university/college days to playing drinking games. This hour will be a doozy. Let’s relive these days with a few classic games.

Games:

• Beer Pong
• Flip Cup
• Dodgebeer
• Slap Cup
• Power Hour
  • A shot of beer every minute for an hour
• Shotgun
  • Best to do this outside or in your bathtub
• Battle Shots
  • Each person will draw a 4 x4 grid on a piece of paper
  • Label the top row A, B, C, D and the vertical row 1, 2, 3, 4
  • Put a divider up between you and the other person
  • Put 4 shots (or however many you choose) on squares across your board
  • Take turns calling out numbers ie. A4, if the other person has a shot there, they must take the shot, otherwise, they can mark an O on that spot as a miss.
  • Keep going until one person has drank all their shots

*Can be played with alcohol or water/juice/pop!

Snacks

• Mini pizzas
• Pizza pops
• Chips

Drink

• Cheap beer- you will be going through quite a few during this hour- don’t waste the premium stuff on a quick chug
• Light vodka seltzers

Music

• Mix of pop hits and 2000s songs (or whatever songs were big during your university/ high school years)

Decorations

Set the room/space up like you are hosting a party in your parent’s house while they are away on holidays and you have to make sure they won’t suspect anything.

• Hide any valuables
• Put garbage bags down for any spills
• Take paintings off the walls

10 pm- Ye Old British Pub

Year in Review Trivia

Take turns quizzing each other about top 2020 songs, tv shows, movies, etc. 

NYE Trivia- Date Night Delivered

NYE Partner Bingo

How well do you know your partner/roommate? This game will have you questioning that. You will download the bingo pdf below and have to race the other person to fill in the correct answers to the questions as fast as you can. If you do not know the answer to the question, you have to text/ call the other person’s friends & family to try and figure out the answers to the questions. Whoever completes the questions with the right answers first, wins.

Activity: KARAOKE!

Well, it’s that time of the night, you’re a few drinks deep and gained the courage to hit the karaoke bar. Search KaraFun Karaoke on youtube, hook up your laptop to your TV and sing your heart out. (PLEASE record your greatest hits, post it on your Instagram story and tag us @datenightdeliveredwpg, we would LOVE to see your performances! Don’t worry, we will be posting ours too)

• What’s your couple/roommate/friends song?
• Put it on full blast and sing your heart out. No one is around so it is just practice for when bars re-open

Song Games:

• What song is it anyway?
  • Play the first 10-15 seconds of a song and see if the other person can guess the song name and artist
• Don’t forget the lyrics
  • Play a portion of a song and see if the other person can correctly answer the next line of the song

Snacks

• Popcorn

Drink

• Shots- you will be busy singing, you don’t have time to nurse a drink

• Set up a stage area in front of the TV or your computer for your at-home concert

12 am- Times Square

Imagine that the travel ban has been lifted and we are all able to travel to Times Square to ring in the New Year. Put on your favourite songs of the year and dance your way into the new year.

Activities

• Drink, kiss, dance and be merry
• If you are really up for a challenge, create a dance routine or try and learn all the dance moves to a music video

Snacks

• Cupcakes
• Your favorite snacks to munch on first thing in 2021

Decorations

• Streamers
• Sparklers
• Ball Drop
  • Create your own!
  • Pick up a plastic table cloth, confetti, streamers, and balloons from the dollar store (or Walmart for curbside pick-up)
  • Cut the table cloth in half and tape a streamer down the center to re-attach it together
  • Make sure you leave a tail on the streamer so you have something to pull down
  • Attach the plastic table cloth to the roof (or high up on a wall) with some tape. Leave some room to put the balloons in.
  • Blow up the balloons and put them in the table cloth cover with some confetti.

The After Party

Tired yet? Grab yourself some greasy eats that you will probably regret the next day. Sliders? Pizza pops? Ice cream? Anything goes.

Grab a pitcher of water and melt into the couch as you throw on the movie New Year’s Eve to wrap up the evening.
